This is how the circus tent of Circus Knie went
Zurich
The circus tent is up – soon it will be time again at Circus Knie on the Sechseläutenplatz: “Clear ring!”
From May 6th to June 6th, Circus Knie will be making a guest appearance again this year on Zurich’s Sechseläutenplatz. We were present at the topping-out.
From May 6th to June 6th, Circus Knie will be performing again on Zurich’s Sechseläutenplatz. From Tuesday to Wednesday, almost 50 workers set up the large circus tent for a total of around eight hours. The big highlight was undoubtedly the topping-out ceremony on Wednesday morning. This is the moment
the huge tarpaulin is pulled up and fastened, so the circus tent is brought to a standstill. Various media professionals and individual passers-by did not want to miss the spectacle.
Also on site was Ivan Knie, son of Géraldine Knie and part of the famous family of artists. The 21-year-old has been helping with construction for several years. He really appreciates the opportunity to be able to make guest appearances on the Sechseläutenplatz every year. He enthused: “It’s one of the most beautiful things there is. You can’t get used to that.”
The workers are a well-rehearsed team that now works together efficiently. While dismantling used to take five hours, it would take about three today. “They work like ants.”
But before the tent is taken down again, the first thing to say on Friday is: the ring is free. Again daring numbers are on the program as well as shows with the comedy duo Ursus & Nadeschkin and the musician Bastian Baker.
