last September, since the prefect of Pas-de-Calais decided to ban this type of weekend event in a number of places in the districts of Béthune and Lens. A decree renewed this week by Louis Le Franc for a period of one month, every weekend in May.
This renewal comes a few days after the death of a young man during a car rally in the parking lot of an Intermarché in Somain, in the neighboring department of Nord. On September 10 in Librecourt, Pas-de-Calais, another young man was fatally hit by a vehicle during a rally of the same type.
Louis Le Franc deplores these “wild gatherings” regularly observed. The prefect justifies the extension of his decree to prevent “this dramatic situation from happening again. He also recalls that offenders are exposed to possible “criminal sanctions”.

– the North, East, South and West boulevards and the streets located within this perimeter in the municipalities of Douvrin and Billy-Berclau;
– rue de la Paix and Auchan store in Noyelles-les-Vermelles;
– rue Benjamin Moloïse and Auchan store in Béthune.
District of Lens:
– all of the car parks in the commercial areas of Cora Lens 2 in Vendin-le-Vieil;
– car parks in the Intermarché shopping area in Carvin;
– car parks in the Maison Plus shopping area in Hénin-Beaumont, in particular those in the Electro depot car park;
– the Bollaert stadium car parks in Lens;
– the “Portes du Nord” industrial zone in Libercourt;
– rue Blaise Pascal in Libercourt.
