The Zurzacher Kreisel-Drachen go into exile in Zurich

No place found in the zoo: the Kreisel dragons go into exile in Zurich
“Sunsoul” and “Soulmoon”, the two works of art by Barbara Brosowski, stood on roundabouts in Bad Zurzach for months. Now they have moved to the canton of Zurich.
They were eye-catchers last year: “Sunsoul” and “Soulmoon”, the two two-and-a-half meter kites by artist Barbara Brosowski, stood on two roundabouts in Bad Zurzach until November. They were part of an action that offered artists from the region a platform to present their works for a few months. Among them are the pop art artist Santhori and the iron sculptor Behrouz Varghayan, who lives in Rekingen.
As the 2021 exhibition period drew to a close, Barbara Brosowski and her husband Roman Brosowski, who own Atelier Oechsli in Bad Zurzach, looked around for a follow-on solution. “There were a few interested parties,” says Roman Brosowski. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find a new place in Bad Zurzach where the kites would still be open to the public, according to Roman Brosowski.
New home at the Volketswil outdoor pool
The animal park is also one of the possible locations. “The idea was to integrate the two dragons into the park,” says Brosowski. Since no suitable place could be found, the proposal was not pursued further.
Among others, the municipality of Volketswil in the canton of Zurich was awarded the contract. When the responsible culture coordinator found out about the search for space, she tried to find an exhibition venue as quickly as possible, which she succeeded in doing: “Sunsoul” and “Soulmoon” have been on display at the outdoor pool in Waldacher for a few days and can be searched from this season.
At Fantasy Basel and at the Frankfurt Book Fair
Roman Brosowski says Volketswil is the ideal choice and fits in perfectly with their own philosophy. The community regularly hosts a fantasy festival. Because Barbara Brosowski has made a name for herself with fantastic worlds and reinvented creatures.
She completed her Master of Art in Art Education at the Zurich University of the Arts. Today she works part-time as a teacher for visual design and handicrafts at the Swiss International School in Zurich and is an author. More of Barbara Brosowski will soon be seen at Fantasy Basel at the end of May and in autumn at the Zurich Pop Con & Game Show and at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
