The French TGV will arrive in the Czech Republic in June
The ten-car set of the French express train will arrive from Germany and will first stop on 6 June in Prague at the main railway station. It will stand there from 11 am. In the evening, the train will continue to the Brno Exhibition Center, where it will be part of an outdoor exhibition on the local railroad track for three days as part of the Rail Business Days trade fair.
The next train stops will be the station in Jihlava on June 10 and the main railway station in Ústí nad Labem a day later. Then the train returns to France via Germany. The Railway Administration will cooperate with the freight carrier ČD Cargo on the transport of the set in the Czech territory.
The presented type TGV PSE with registration number 16 was supplied to the French state railways by Alstom in 1980. The train ran on the line between Paris and Lyon. The train consists of two traction and eight inserted cars with a total length of 200 meters, in its original configuration offered 368 seats.
In 1981, he reached a speed record of 380 km / h, and then drove 300 km / h on regular routes. It served in regular operation until 2018, covering a total of more than 13 million kilometers.
The railway administration cooperates with the French state railways SNCF Réseau in the preparation of high-speed lines in the country. The French provide consultations and models of technical solutions.
The first VRT building in 2026
According to current plans, construction of the first section of high-speed rail in the Czech Republic should begin in 2026, and operation will take place about four years later.
During the preparation of the expressway, the railway administration has defined the priority sections that are being prepared under the accelerated regime. These are the sections Prague Běchovice – Poříčany, which is still the furthest in preparation, then Poříčany – Světlá nad Sázavou, Velká Bíteš – Brno, Modřice – Šakvice, Prosenice – Ostrava Svinov, Prague Vysočany – Lovosice / Litoměřice and Ústí nad Labem west – state border Czech Republic with Germany.
At present, the maximum permitted speed on Czech railways is 160 km / h. The fastest routes of the prepared high-speed lines should, in the case, allow a maximum speed of up to 320 km / h, other parts are being prepared for a speed of around 200 km / h.
