300 kilowatts on own battery. We tried the fastest charger in Prague
The PRE Hypercharger charging station with an output of 300 kW / 500 A is the second of its kind in Prague. At the opposite end, in Chodov near the Spojovna restaurant, it does not yet run at a full 300 kW and, due to the still missing battery storage, it has temporarily reduced its output to 220 kW. Now, for the first time, Praguers can also enjoy a full 300 kW, while Ionity customers have been in contact with similar parameters for some time. However, there is no Ionity station in Prague yet, the nearest is just outside Prague on the D1 motorway. Of course, the 300 kW only applies to cars with 800V architecture. Four hundred-volt cars with a maximum current of 500 A will reach about 200 kW. This applies to both the BMW i7 and the Mercedes EQS.
We tested the fastest charger in Prague from PRE
Of course, the editors of fDrive.cz could not miss it. Even though she just didn’t have an electric car that could take full advantage of this power (there is no such power on the market yet), she gave a super-fast charging to at least the editorial Audi e-tron, whose maximum is 150 kW. And in sixth place, in addition to the existing fast charging points in place, PRE is building the seventh form of a smart lamp with a slow AC connection. The station is a classic Alpitronic Hypercharger in a larger variant for four power modules, it is equipped only with CCS connectors. It doesn’t matter, because both CHAdeMO and AC are available on the other two racks, see below.
The location itself in Čakovice is cleverly designed. Not everyone wants to pay extra for ultra-fast charging, which costs two crowns more per kilowatt hour, so in the same place, just on the other side of the island, two smaller Hyperchargers have been standing for some time, each with an output of 75 kW. They can be charged for the usual CZK 8 / kWh, or more cheaply with various recharge cards. But if you have an e-tron Charging Service, for example, you can buy ultra-fast charging with it cheaper, because it is charged per time unit. For the GT e-throne, one kilowatt hour costs four crowns when charging at the UFC station, and for the e-throne, it costs an average of CZK 5.6. So if you’re in a hurry, there’s nothing to deal with, so you can even save with car charging cards. And for example, you can charge the Audi e-tron GT here at really full speed without paying extra.

PRE has launched the fastest charging station in Prague. It has 300 kW
Our classic e-tron output of 150 kW maintains up to 80% SoC, which is unique among electric cars, and even after 4 years, the e-tron is still one of the kings of charging. There are two CCS connectors, and with this aggregated power, the station would be able to charge two e-trons at full speed at all times. It is an extremely conveniently located charger, because in its immediate vicinity is not only the Lidl supermarket, but also the newly built medium-sized shopping center. There you can stop on the way north, make a quick purchase or drink coffee and then continue. You will leave from there to Líbeznice and from there, for example, take the D8 or I / 9 roads to your destinations.
