Prague will have the Růžový sad on Petřín renovated, and it will announce a tender
The Prague City Hall will announce a tender for a public contract with an estimated value of about 26.8 million crowns without VAT for the modifications of the Rose Garden on Petřín. The announcement of the tender was approved by the councilor. Modifications will include new surfaces, replacement of benches and other furniture or addition of greenery. A few years ago, the city had the park around the Petřín lookout tower modified.
“As part of the revitalization, there will be an exchange of roads, removal of unsuitable buildings, replacement of furniture elements, including a new drinking fountain and addition of plantings. Work is scheduled to begin this year, most of which are scheduled for next year.
Some time ago, the councilors also approved the announcement of a public contract with an estimated value of 39.6 million crowns for the drainage of the Nebozízek cable car station and restaurant and repairs to the emergency condition of the historic gallery, which is located below it.
In 2018, the city completed the alterations around the Petřín Lookout Tower, which underwent a complete renovation. In 2019, the municipality’s management planned to build a facility with toilets in the Great Strahov Garden, but after criticism from some locals, it eventually canceled the project.
The Rose Garden on Petřín is located between the Hungry Wall and the historic fortifications. The land was previously used for military purposes before it was converted into gardens in the 1930s. In the park there is the upper station of the cable car and the MR Štefánik Observatory.
