Drunk driver crashes into a stationary car at Paardenmarkt | Antwerp
AntwerpA driver hit a parked vehicle on the Paardenmarkt on Saturday night. Fortunately, the man who was in the parked vehicle at the time of the collision escaped unscathed. The driver of the crashing vehicle placed a positive breath test and had to surrender his driver’s license. His car was no longer drivable. The vehicle that was hit was also not yet insured and was towed.
That same night, a lady ran into a traffic light at the intersection of the Singel and the Colonel Silvertoplaan. A pole with several signposts was also knocked over. The lady indicated that they had to swerve for a cyclist. Camera images contradicted her account. She passed a positive breath test and had to surrender her driver’s license.
Finally, a witness contacted the police on Saturday morning because a man was driving on Groenendaallaan. On Merksemsesteenweg and near Vosseschijnstraat he had hit a traffic light and a traffic sign. The car was parked on Bisschoppenhoflaan. The vehicle was badly damaged and the drivers posted a positive breath test. Here too it was immediately confiscated for 15 days.
