“I wanted to tell women and their lives through cinema, for this reason I approached directing” declared Maria Iovine, winner of the second edition of the Valpharma Award for Cinema who, on Friday evening at the Fulgor Cinema in Rimini presented her exciting docufilm ‘Body to Body’, on the story of the paratriathlon champion Veronica Yuko Plebani, bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. An inspiration and motivation that allowed the young author and director from Campania to excite everyone during the 76 minutes of the film, the audience rushed to the cinema. The screening, in national preview, was a real hymn to the strength, kindness, determination, sensitivity and skills of women. With a fresh and direct narrative style he touched deep themes such as disability, empowerment and beauty outside the box. The award dedicated to the memory of Roberto Valducci, founder of the Valpharma Group of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies, which is part of the Rimini Film Festival – La Settima Arte Cinema and authors, has the specific purpose of expressing the talent of young film authors. aged 40 years. The jury, composed of Alessia Valducci, president of Valpharma Group, Cristina Scognamillo, journalist and co-founder of Women in Cinema Award and Good Girls Planet and Roy Menarini, director of La Settima Arte Cinema e Industria unanimously decreed the winner , choosing it from a full-bodied parterre of participants. She received the prestigious ‘Ciack’ shaped plaque whose graphic design was created by the Gambarini & Muti studio. “Having shared this award with Veronica – said Maria Iovine – I learned many things from her: the most important is that we women can be who we want to be, in this topic or models that society offers us”.
