Microsoft bought land in Prague from CPI Radovan Vítek for 1.5 billion crowns
Asked by the website whether, for example, a data center could be created on the plot, Microsoft’s director of communications for Central and Eastern Europe, Lenka Čábelová, stated that she now has no further information regarding the purchase of the land. However, she added that the company remains committed to strengthening the “digital transformation of the Czech Republic through Microsoft’s cloud services”.
Microsoft operates data centers in dozens of European countries and, for example, in Poland in 2020 announced an investment of one billion dollars, among other things, in a new data center.
According to the Report List, the land the company bought in Prague is close to the Letňany metro station and is adjacent to the Klíčov garages for the transport company’s buses.
According to the server, Vítkova CPI had previously planned a project on the plot, which, in addition to the office, included a hotel, shops and city warehouses. He did not comment on his sales to Microsoft. “As a rule, we do not comment on our stores and business negotiations,” said CPI spokesman Jakub Velen.
