Health – Hanover – Rules for isolation and quarantine extended until the end of May – Health
Hanover (dpa / lni) – The rules for isolation and quarantine in connection with the corona virus are being extended in Lower Saxony. A corresponding regulation is now dated until May 25, as the Ministry of Health in Hanover announced on Friday. For the time being, the obligation to have a positive rapid corona test confirmed by a PCR test and then to be isolated for ten days still applies.
The Federal Ministry of Health has announced that the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) will be revised in the coming week. Should this time be reduced to five days, this should be implemented accordingly in Lower Saxony.
At the moment, however, it remains the case that, according to the ministry, a free test by means of a rapid test is possible after seven days at the earliest for adults and after five days at the earliest for children and adolescents. Close contacts of infected people must continue to go into quarantine. This excludes, among other things, people who have received a second corona vaccination within the past 90 days or who are considered to be fresh genes, i.e. were infected with Covid within the past 90 days and whose positive PCR test was more than 28 days ago. Anyone who has received a booster vaccination also no longer has to be in quarantine as a contact person.
