The decision of the LREM nominations for the next legislative elections (1st round on June 12 and 2nd round on June 19) is imminent. Overview of the situation in Lyon and in the Rhône.
The presidential party plays big in Lyon and in the Rhône during the legislative elections. These elections, announced on Sunday June 12, 2022 (1st round) and Sunday June 19 (2nd round), allow the election of 577 deputies to the National Assembly. They are capital. The deputies vote in particular all the laws. The distribution of the seats of deputies is carried out by population groups, also called constituencies (approximately 100,000 – 125,000 inhabitants per constituency).
In the Rhône, there are 14 constituencies. The Rhône therefore sends 14 deputies to the National Assembly. Only one MP is elected per constituency, the one who comes first in the second round.
LREM and its allies put 11 seats out of 14 in the Rhône into play, they are playing big
The presidential party plays big in Lyon and in the Rhône because LREM and the Modem have 11 outgoing deputies (out of 14 in the Rhône). In the 1st round of the 2022 presidential election, Emmanuel Macron came out on top in 8 constituencies in the Rhône, Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the other 6 (Cap de Lyon’ you offer a summary of the results in each legislative constituency in our interactive map at the bottom of the article).
In Lyon, there are 4 constituencies. In the 1st, the outgoing LREM deputy Thomas Rudigoz will be reinvested. Like Anne BrugneraLREM deputy in the 4th constituency.
In the 2nd constituency, held by Hubert Julien-Laferrière, elected in 2017 under the LREM label but spent during his mandate at Génération Ecologie, Loic Terrenes is in pole position to win the nomination. He is close to Olivier Véran (one of his former political advisers), editorial director of a publishing house and director of a public affairs consulting firm. He was also planning and housing adviser to David Kimelfeld.
In the 3rd constituency, Jean-Louis Touraine, LREM deputy, is not standing. Sarah Peillondepartmental referent of the En Marche movement, will be invested.
The great return of Nora Berra?
In the other constituencies of the Rhône, in the 5th (Caluire – Val de Saône – Monts d’Or), the outgoing MP Modem Blandine Brocade wants to leave. But she is in competition with the former Sarkozy minister Nora Berra, who was a candidate on this “circo”. “I don’t see why we would declare war on the Modem for Nora Berra“, loose a walker from Lyon. Brocard remains the favorite.
In the 6th constituency, that of Villeurbanne, LREM is perhaps hopeful in a territory where Mélenchon pranced in the lead in the 1st round. Loic Chabrier, municipal councilor LREM / Territories of Progress of Villeurbanne, former deputy for culture, holds the rope. But nothing is done. A female candidate is also considered.

Alexandre Vindendet about to be supported by LREM
In the 7th district (Rillieux – Vaulx – Bron), it smells very good for Alexandre Vincendet, the LR mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape, president of the LR federation of the Rhône. LREM will support it. However, the terms of his appointment are not yet fixed: with the LREM label, with the presidential majority label or without a candidate facing him. The outgoing LREM MP, Anissa Khederunless the situation turns around, will not be reinvested.
In the 8th district (Ecully – Monts du Lyonnais), several candidates are in the running. Dominique Despras (Modem) is mentioned in a constituency held by LR. Jean-Philippe Jal, Director of the Association of Mayors of the Rhône and the Metropolis of Lyon, is also approached. The former mayor of Ecully, Yves-Marie Uhlrich, also requested the nomination for Horizons, the party of Edouard Philippe, allied to LREM. But he goes a long way. Florence Asti Laperriere, Metropolitan Councilor of Lyon, is also interested. The National Youth President with Macron, Ambroise Mejean, very active during the campaign, is also approached. He studied in Lyon and wants to invest in Lyon. Méjean could be invested in another district of the Rhône if he is not invested in the 8th.
In the 9th (Villefranche – Beaujolais), the other circo owned by LR, Macron came out on top in the 1st lap ahead of Le Pen. Few names are buzzing about the future LREM candidate. No surprise in the 10th, 11th and 12th. Thomas Gassilloud (Agir) will be reinvested in the 10th, Jean-Luc Fugit (LREM) in the 11th and Cyrille Isaac Sibille (Modem) in the 12th.
In the 13th constituency (Décines, Meyzieu, Genas, Chassieu, part of Saint-Priest), there are many candidates for the nomination. The mayor of Genas, ex-LR now moved to Horizons, Daniel Valero, is a candidate. Outgoing MP Danièle Cazarian pushes for her parliamentary attaché, Sarah Tanziliwho would hold the rope. Isabelle Perriet Roux, LREM municipal councilor of Décines, also metropolitan councilor of Lyon, is also mentioned. Like Ambroise Mejeanthe president of the Youth with Macron.
In the 14th constituency (Vénissieux – Saint-Fons, part of Saint-Priest), the outgoing LREM deputy Yves Blein should not stand for re-election in a constituency where the presidential party does not have many hopes for the next legislative elections. The name of one of Yves Blein’s collaborators, Pierre Obrecht, is mentioned. But one among many.
In the Rhône, LREM hopes to “save” at least 7 constituencies. Imminent response for nominations, this Friday or early next week.
