Munich: police action against left-wing extremists – several arrests – Munich
Because of the suspicion of founding a criminal organization, the public prosecutor’s office and the police searched a total of seven buildings in the city and district of Munich on Tuesday and arrested several people, according to a press release. The main suspects are a 27-year-old man from Munich and a 27-year-old and a 28-year-old who live in the district. They are accused of publishing a publication with left-wing extremist content for several years and of having called for serious crimes.
The publication is apparently the magazine “Zündlumpen”, which was also distributed via the Internet platform Indymedia. The magazine repeatedly called for attacks on police officers or arson attacks on infrastructure facilities. In addition, there were regular glorifying reports about arson on radio masts, police vehicles or data cables. The arson at the cable duct, which was carried out in May 2021 in the east of Munich, caused power outages and damage running into millions, was also recognized with recognition.
After investigations by Commissariat 43 of the Munich Police Headquarters, which is responsible for crime motivated by left-wing politics, the Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism (ZET) obtained the search warrants from the Munich District Court. Printing machines, mobile phones, computers and storage media were seized in the suspects’ apartments and in several rented cellars. Two trucks and several cars were needed to remove the evidence. The forensic investigations are ongoing. The two men were eliminated after the police measures were completed.
