Ukraine, Sunflower seeds | Rationing on sunflower oil
Several Danish stores recently introduced rationing of sunflower oil, including Danish Rema 1000.
– Ukraine is one of the largest manufacturers of sunflower oil. Ukraine accounts for half of the world’s sunflower seeds
Ukraine accounts for close to 50 percent of world sunflower production and Russia close to 30 percent. The war therefore has a major impact on the world’s approach to vegetable oils. At the beginning of the war, it was reported that the workers at Kernel had left the factories to report for war.
Kernel is the world’s leading and Ukraine’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil. The company is a major supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to international markets. Kernel exports its products to more than 80 countries in the world.

Spain has also introduced rationing on the coveted cooking oil.
In early March, Christopher Harlem, CEO of the raw material house, told the Harlem Group that they are no longer being offered either sunflower or rapeseed oil.
The commodity house could tell that the price had doubled after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
The online newspaper has sent an inquiry to the Norwegian grocery players about rationing on sunflower oil. All confirm that the foregoing is not relevant.
