Dacia Vikings fire for first AFL home game against Salzburg – Football-Fan.de
Home opener at Ravelin
The Easter break is over. That means the Austrian Football League finally continues. For our Dacia Vikings (2-0), the long-awaited home opener against the Ducks from Salzburg will take place on Saturday, April 30th at 6 p.m.
The Vikings Football Center Ravelin opens the gates for all fans of our AFL team for the first time. The Vikings, who will play their third game against Ducks, are in impressive form based on the results so far. The statistically best offense in the league has already scored 113 points in their past two games, while keeping the opponents on 77 points. For comparison: The guests from Salzburg (0-2) do not seem to have found their offensive rhythm from previous seasons and have only scored 28 points in their two games. The climber – and winner of the Silver Bowls XXIII – will certainly come to Vienna well prepared. It’s up to the defense of our Dacia Vikings not to let die Ducks come into play.
“It’s going to be an exciting matchup – I’m expecting a grass chess!” (AFL Head Coach Ivan Zivko)
We are also curious to see what offensive game plan HC & Offensive Coordinator, Ivan Zivko, has come up with for Salzburg. “Basically, of course, there is respect for the team from Salzburg, even if it’s 0-2! You have a super coached team, with two very experienced coaches who have been active in the AFL for a long time. It will also be an exciting matchup – both between the coaches and the players. Both teams are able to score a lot of points; and I think it will be a celebration for the fans. In the end, it all comes down to who has fewer absentees and is therefore better prepared for the game.”
The fans are sure to be eager for more electrifying performances from our Dacia Vikings, such as the record-breaking performance of our US running back #23 Devontae Jordan (photo above), who not only found the end zone himself seven times in the game against the Raiders in Tirol, but also as a passer a touchdown to our wide receiver #3 Fabian Eder.
Dacia Vikings Matchday Highlights
The coming Saturday at the Ravelin not only offers you the best sporting entertainment, but also other great offers. The Score will provide optimal catering, while the noise gang and the cheerdance team Destiny (pre-games performance) will get the atmosphere going at full speed. On the sideline we look forward to the Dacia Vikings cheerleaders. In addition to goodies for visitors, there is also a Skill Sports merchandise shop and a flea market with products from the upcycling project of the All In fan group.
After the final whistle, there will be a meet and greet with some football players who look forward to signing autographs and taking selfies with fans.
