Sedlec-Prčice (Příbramsko) – On May 21, fans of tourism will go to the 55th annual long-distance march Prague-Prčice. While in the previous two years its organization prevented the pandemic, this year it has to reckon with restrictions due to the reconstruction of the railway corridor between Prague and Tábor. They will be able to march only after prior electronic registration. It will no longer be possible to register until the start on the day of the march, Dana Horáková informed ČTK today on behalf of the organizers.
Registration will start on the site www.praha-prcice.cz May 5 at 10:00 and last until May 19 until midnight. The applicant will follow the simple registration instructions and, after paying the entry fee to the account, will receive an e-mail with the data needed to start the relevant route. At the start, after submitting a confirmation e-mail, they will receive a place with stamps from the checkpoints. Registered torches listed on one registration set off together and only from the selected start. The entry fee is 40 crowns for each participant.
“As the closure of railway traffic between Olbramovice and Chotoviny is taking place this year, we have been forced to resort to regulatory measures, including limiting the number of torches,” the organizers pointed out web. Marchers from the north ask them to choose the northern routes from Benešov, Bystřice, Olbramovice or Sedlčany. From the south, people should set off again from Tábor or Milevsko. “We believe that we have exhausted the adversity of fate in the last three years and everything will be the same from the 56th year onwards,” the organizers added.
Pedestrian routes measure from 23 to 70 kilometers, with the longest starting in Prague. Part of the route is reserved for cyclists. The walking route for children starts in Votice, the wheelchair in Miličín. Details can be found on the website www.praha-prcice.cz.
The Prague-Prčice march has been taking place since 1966, when five hundred tourists managed to cover a distance of 100,000 Czech elbows, which corresponds to about 60 kilometers. Tourists last marched in 2019. A year later, the event was postponed due to a pandemic, but in the end it did not take place last year either. It was not possible to meet the conditions regarding the number of participants to obtain a positive opinion of the Chief Hygienist for the town of Sedlec-Prčice.
