“Pasolini profeta”, the Siena Ballet in the national premiere at the Rinnovati
The Balletto di Siena will present, al Teatro dei Rinnovati, the first national of his new production: Pasolini prophet – a poetically uncomfortable life. The debut, in co-production with the Municipality of Siena, will be on April 30th at 9.15 pm.
March 5, 2022 was the centenary of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini, writer, playwright, director, actor, screenwriter, journalist, philosopher and even a painter; a creative genius, an intellectual as uncomfortable as his famous films: Accattone, Mamma Roma, Salò or the 120 days of Sodom. The Ballet of Siena wants to remember and commemorate the director and writer, celebrating his intellectual and nonconformist exuberance, his total openness to the dialogue between literature, cinema and figurative arts. A multifaceted personality, strongly critical of society and in constant search of the truth. Pasolini has always tried to focus on and exasperate the most bitter and raw aspects of life, through the use of an incisive style that comes from his great ability to blend reality and philosophy. The desertion, the relationship with his mother Susanna, the love for art and love for love, the successes and scandals will be told thanks to the music of Morricone and Bach, which he listened to and used in the films of he. The public will be able to see the moments that marked Pasolini’s life and better understand his thoughts from the unchanged topicality.
The Balletto di Siena is a dynamic artistic reality, whose performances combine technical accuracy and a style of movement full of elegance and passion. To date, the company has elements from all over the world, and has twenty productions to its credit. Thanks to the strong technical and interpretative bases of its dancers, the Siena Ballet brings on stage and alternates, without interruption, classic productions and new shows with a purely contemporary language.
