Mercedes rowdy lost control of the vehicle in Zurich – now process.
The Swiss Shqiprim B.* (24) put his foot down, lost control of his Mercedes and injured two women. The police took the man right after the crash fest.
A good year has passed since this accident in Zurich District 9. On Tuesday, B. will be tried before the Zurich District Court.
The indictment now shows what the electrician is specifically charged with: qualified gross violation of traffic rules. Peter Saurer, the defendant’s defense attorney, has a different opinion. He says to Blick: “I want to show that it was a gross violation of the traffic rules – but not a qualified gross, so not a speeding offense.”
Shqiprim B. caused an accident in the Mercedes C63 S-AMG
In addition to this controversial point, the public prosecutor accuses B. of something else: multiple negligent bodily harm. In the indictment, the prosecutor explains how things should have happened on March 25, 2021 from his point of view.
On this spring evening, the then 23-year-old is driving the chic Mercedes C63 S-AMG on Bernerstrasse in the direction of the city of Zurich. He stops the car at a traffic light at the Bernerstrasse/Hermetschloobrücke junction. To his right is a BMW 330i. It was precisely this car that B. wanted to overtake before the lane narrowed, according to the indictment. The accused intentionally switched off the electronic stability program.
Defender: “Only accelerated to 44 to 50 km/h”.
Then the traffic light turns green. B. presses on the gas so hard that an accident occurs: The young man wants to steer, but since the stability program is off, the rear of the high-powered Mercedes breaks out, according to the indictment. Defense attorney Saurer emphasizes, however, that it is not an accelerated speeding offense because, according to the report, his client is “only up to 44 to 50 km/h”.
After the steering maneuver, the car skids in the middle of the intersection, according to the indictment. It comes off the road and thunders into the traffic lights. Worse: The AMG collides with a jogger and a cyclist who are on the sidewalk. The vehicle only stops in the ditch.

The cyclist who was hit is lucky with bruises on her knee, ankle and hand. The jogger is hit harder: she suffers a slight craniocerebral trauma with a crushed laceration on her eyebrow. Also bruises.
On the other hand, the Mercedes hooligan survived the incident unharmed, as stated in the indictment. And even if B. did not seriously injure anyone in the accident, the public prosecutor states that the Zurich resident “took the high risk of an accident with serious injuries or fatalities”.
For his alleged offense on March 25, the public prosecutor demands a prison sentence of 16 months for Shqiprim B. – conditionally. The probationary period is three years.
