Gregory Doucet, the environmental mayor of Lyon, reacted Sunday evening at the microphone of Lyon Capitale to the result of the 2nd round of the presidential election and is already projecting himself on the legislative elections.
Support for Yannick Jadot in the 1st round (4.7%), Grégory Doucet, the mayor of Lyon, then called to vote Emmanuel Macron in the 2nd to block Marine Le Pen. “Our republican institutions are safeguarded“, explained Grégory Doucet Sunday evening after the re-election of the President of the Republic for the next 5 years.
The mayor of Lyon has already turned to the legislative elections (June 12 and 19). He wants a great union of the left.
“Macron will preside. It is up to us to impose a cohabitation to govern. We have seen it with this election, there is a lot of despair and anger. It is up to us to build new hope. We have enough to build this hope if we know how to bring together ecological movements with left-wing movements in a plural way to present another political offer at the time of the legislative elections.“, believes Grégory Doucet.

With his almost 22% in the 1st round, Jean-Luc Mélenchon is now the strong man on the left according to the ecologist Doucet. “The leadership resulting from the 1st round of the presidential election is in the hands of Mélenchon, it is up to him to lead and guide the discussions, without hegemony. What has always been the strength of the gatherings is their pluralism, their ability to open up their arms and bring all the energies into play. The more we can pull together, the stronger we’ll be“, insists the mayor of Lyon.
In Lyon, in the second round of the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron approached 80%.
➡️ Macron: 79.80% or 164,535 votes
➡️ Le Pen: 20.20% or 41,643 votes
