Prague – The 3rd year of the Comic-Con Prague festival is coming to an end in Prague, with thousands of sci-fi, fantasy and horror fans coming to the O2 universe from April 22. Also today, the event, which was attended by 18,500 people last year, will offer autograph signings and discussions with foreign and domestic actors and artists. There will be screenings, workshops, competitions, exhibitions, concerts and also the possibility of playing video games and board games.
As on Saturday, one of the guests on Sunday’s program will be the English actor Bernard Hill, who played King Théoden in the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings or Captain Edward James Smith in the feature film Titanic. Actress Victoria Yeates, who starred in Fantastic Animals: Grindelwald’s Crimes and Fantastic Animals: Dumbledore’s Secret, will perform again. Actor Richard Coyle will be her companion in the lecture entitled Fantastic Animals.
Among the foreign comic book creators, the organizers will welcome David Lloyd, James O’Barr or Stewart Kenneth Moore. The domestic scene will then be represented by Petr Kopl, Dan Černý and Alice Slavíčková. Lee Sullivan, the author of comics based on Ben Aaronovitch’s novels on the Greek of London, will talk about the origin of well-known film, literary, comic and other works.
An area of over 1400 square meters is reserved for video games and board games. The giant video game room has new and retro consoles, video games, virtual reality, but also gaming computers, laptops and the like. The board game room then offers dozens of tables for card and board games and puzzles.
Comic Con Prague is based on a foreign concept that has a half-century history. The first such event took place in the USA in 1970. The first year of the domestic meeting of fans of comics, sci-fi and fantasy films, series and books, 23,000 visitors came to the O2 Universe in Prague last year, and last year the organizers recorded a total of 18,500.
