EVERYONE RECEIVED THE HEAD when Gyirmót FC Győr started the year 2022 by first defeating Budapest Honvéd (1–0), then Újpest (1–0) and Paks (3–2), and the from the last place he not only stepped into the ninth position, but also built a four-point advantage over the then eleventh MTK over Budapest. However, a great start is a thing of the past, by now the team from Győr has come to the conclusion that such a good series would not be a guarantee to stay at the forefront. Interestingly, we’re just at the stage of the tournament when the three meetings that brought in nine points at the start of the spring follow, but the rookie’s previous two and a half months haven’t really shown the reality of a similar resurrection.
The position of head coach Aurél Csertői was somewhat imagined by the fact that Márió Zeke and Barnabás Varga released their ban (the former was only placed on the bench), so Budapest Honvéd lost the last two basic men to the last round: Péter Szappanos due to illness and Dominik Nagy due to knee it was not available to the professional staff. The footballers on both sides were aware of the size of the stakes, it was no surprise that Gyirmó and Honvéd had already attacked their rivals in their own half of the field.
It must have happened that the away team defended with nine field players twenty-five meters from their own goal (only Nenad Lukics was left in front) and the home team searched for the gaps with plenty of cross passes – it didn’t last long. Approaching half of the game, Viktor Csörgő with a short saved head at the left-hand guest, Of which Luke and after a pick-up, he bombarded the ball in the lower left corner to then celebrate with his teammates by showing off Dominic the Great jersey, which was forced to miss a long time due to injury.
Gyirmó didn’t collapse, he was still trying to put pressure on his opponent, and although after a great Ádám Hajdú pass, Tomás Tujvel was the first to defend with bravura, Florent Hasani proved helpless at its close repetition. The Hungarian footballers did a lot to gain the advantage, and they certainly went to the leading shot in the shooting of Vladimir Klimovich. The supporters from Kispest also received criticism from the stands, as Gyirmó was in control of the match, and this was the case even if Vinci Szegi had to save from the goal line at the end of the game after Viktor Csörgő’s unsuccessful attempt to release.
At the start of the second half, Nenad Lukic, who had already been penalized with a yellow card, slipped recklessly into Florent Hasani, it wouldn’t have been a surprise if the Honvéd had run out of ten. It can’t be set that the footballers on both sides didn’t fight, but the plethora of mistakes showed why Gyirmót and Honvéd are where they are. In the 66th minute, after a kick-off, Barnabás Varga had the home team’s shot, but he shot poorly, then after a corner, Vince Szegi was close to scoring.
In his hair, Csörgő’s head was defended with huge brilliance by Tujvel, then Hasani made a big mistake, and although Hidi Patrik hit the bar – back to Gyirmó was closer to victory, but in the end he only scored one point. The disadvantage of four rounds before the end is still six points against the Budapest Honvéd. And since his rival has three more wins, any two successes wouldn’t hold him back. 1–1
