Horn Fest Prague will be created with spectators for the first time
“We started the idea of a festival that recalls the tradition of horn playing in the Czech lands three years ago. At that time, we had no idea how the coronavirus pandemic would affect everything, and that our efforts, for example, not only for concerts or streaming, but also for charitable and supportive activities, “he said. The renowned horn player became one of the organizers of the collection Freelance musicianswhich provided 123 musicians during the coronavirus pandemic and distributed over 1.3 million crowns among them.
Concerts of this year’s festival Horn Fest Prague they will offer compositions from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romance to the present and lighter genres. The festival will open on Friday, April 22, in the Atrium at Žižek’s chamber trio. Baborák together with Miroslav Sekera AND Martina Bačová imagine in a romantic program.
Saturday evening, April 23, will include Baroque in the service Baborák Ensemble in the church of St. Vavřince pod Petřínem. Works by Michel Corrette, Georg Philipp Telemann, Antonio Vivaldi and Jean-Joseph Mouret will be performed.
For rich sound Czech Horn Choir listeners can enjoy April 24 in the church of St. Anežky in Spořilov. Together with the organist Aleš Bárta implementing program consisting mainly of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
The final concert will traditionally take place in lighter and more modern genres Baborák Orquestrina May 29 in the Písek Gate.
Baborák is a leading Czech horn player, student of the horn player and pedagogue Bedřich Tylšar and the winner of a number of international interpretation competitions. From 2002 to 2011 he was a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic. He is the author of many television, radio and CD recordings. He founded his own musical ensemble Baborák Ensemble, in addition he collaborates with the quintet Afflatus.
He is the artistic director of the Czech Horn Choir ensembles, Prague chamber soloists AND Czech symphony. As a chamber musician, he is regularly invited to collaborate with extraordinary musicians and personalities. On his initiative, the Horn Fest Prague festival was established, which wants to contribute to preserving the tradition of the Czech horn game.
