SIS WARNS: Risk of cyber attack in Moldova | PUBLIC .MD
The Intelligence and Security Service comes with a warning to operators of national critical infrastructure targets about some cyber security risks at regional and international level.
According to the SIS, certain state actors are exploring options for potential cyber attacks on critical infrastructure targets and critical Information and Communication Technologies and Communications infrastructures.
“Recent cyber operations sponsored by state actors have included distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and older operations have included the development of mechanisms and the use of destructive malicious applications to: maintain long-term and persistent access to IT networks; leakage of sensitive data. from IT networks and operational technology networks (OT – SCADA / PLC / DCS / CNC / BMS / BAS); disruption of critical industrial control systems (ICS) “, the SIS statement states.
In this regard, organizations, institutions and businesses that are part of the national critical infrastructure are urged to prepare for and mitigate potential cyber threats. by: updating the software immediately; MFA (Multifactor Authentication) application; securing and monitoring RDP connections and other potentially risky services; educating, training and raising awareness of end-users on compliance with cyber hygiene rules.
