Once again the people of San Marino stand out for the spirit of solidarity and attention to others. For the Easter that has just passed, the ASLEM Association has taken action to give life to a project that sees beyond not only territorial but also human borders. The proceeds from the sale of Easter eggs and doves were used to purchase drugs, mostly chemotherapy and antibiotics, delivered to the Pediatric Oncohematology Hospital in Lviv thanks to the collaboration with ADMO and the action of the Soleterre Foundation which operates in Ukraine. in favor of children affected by leukemia and other blood cancer diseases since 2003. Little patients are experiencing a double war, that of the disease and that created by man which, in addition to destruction, is taking away the cure due to the shortage of medicines . The hospital in Lviv is located just over 50km from the Polish border and has seen its pediatric patients triple since the start of the war, due to the significant influx of children with cancer from the facilities in Kiev and Kharkiv . In the city of Lviv, the Soleterre Foundation has created the first bone marrow transplant unit for the treatment of pediatric tumors in collaboration with the west of the country, in collaboration with the pediatric onco-hematology department and the cell-factory of San Matteo di Pavia and in these weeks, thanks to donations from Italy, it supplies the hospital with medical supplies and drugs (chemotherapy, analgesics, antibiotics, painkillers). In the hope that the war made by men ends as soon as possible, ASLEM will always remain alongside all patients who fight against leukemia and other blood diseases, with small and large daily gestures of love and solidarity. A special thanks to those who believed in the project by purchasing ASLEM products and to the important help of UNICO SpA, which through its UNICA pharmacies made possible the realization of the project.
