The registration of the participants of the rally “Around Lithuania 2022” has started

Sugar Mizzy April 19, 2022

The early registration should not be watched, because this year the rally “Around” to win the cup of President Gitan Nausėda will not take place at the end, as was usual in Lithuania in the last year, but on the summer days of May 27-29.

“A lot of participants are waiting to move this rally to the last days of the calendar spring, which covers geography and attracts a lot of spectators, only because the schedule of motor sports events in autumn is very intense,” says LAC President Rolandas Dovidaitis from the first event.

The origins of the rally “Around Lithuania” date back to 1931. July 24, when the start of the first such rally was given in Kaunas. This Lithuanian Automobile Sports Federation is considered to be the official start of motorsport in the country, but for all understandable reasons, it will be only the 31st in the event yearbook this year, and the winners will once again be happy with the Lithuanian President’s Cup.

After Lithuania regained its independence, the rally “Around Lithuania” was revived in 1996, when exactly 65 people had started since the beginning of 1931. given to the first such rally, and its participants, as in pre-war Lithuania, are still competing for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Lithuania.

Fighting for this and other meaningful awards, the participants of this year’s rally will have a route of almost 1,130 km in three days, asphalt and gravel roads and special tracks no longer far from the perimeter of the country.

The organizers hope that this year, as last year, neither the three-day challenge nor the marathon route will escape the representatives of the fairer sex, who will compete in a separate competition.

The Rally “Around Lithuania” has been a tradition for people with disabilities since its restoration in 1996.

Probably the biggest tests will await the participants of the rally on the first day of the race, when they will start in Kaunas Town Hall Square, after several competitions in the streets of the temporary capital, Aleksotas Innovation and Industry Park, through Kačerginė, Kėdainiai, Raseiniai, Tauragė, Šilalė, Šilutė and Gargždai finish in Kretinga.

And until then, there have been several challenges for them along the way, including several races in the famous Kačerginė, Tauragė, where local car enthusiasts present unexpected surprises, not to mention the international Vilkyčiai cross-country track, which claims to become a real cherry on the first day’s battalion. .

On the second day of the rally, it can be boldly called a gift for the fans of the gravel tracks, when as many as five competitions from eight paved roads are organized, including the cross-country tracks in Telšiai and Uoginiai (Kupiškis district).

After starting in Telšiai on the second day of the competition, the rally participants will reach Anykščiai via Mažeikiai, Joniškis, Pakruojis, Rokiškis and Kupiškis, where they will have a second night.

And in March of the final day, the participants of the marathon rally will reach Vilnius after two morning races in Anykščiai via Ukmergė and Molėtai, where they will end the three-day battle with the most decisive last race – a slalom competition near the Litexpo Palace.

Rally “Around Lithuania 2022” on May 29. will end at the traditional finish spot in S. Daukantas Square in front of the Presidency, where the rally winners will receive the main prize of the race – the President’s Cup – and other honorable awards.
