Ukraine agrees with the British Urenco Group on uranium concentrate for nuclear power plants
NNEGC Energoatom agrees with the British Urenco Group on additional supply of uranium concentrate for Ukrainian NPPs.
As Ukrinform reports, it reports press service Energoatom following the talks between NNEGC leader Petro Kotin and the head of Urenco Group.
According to Kotin, any cooperation with the aggressor country, including the purchase of Russian uranium concentrate, is unacceptable for Ukraine. Therefore, Energoatom is counting on an agreement to increase procurement in the British company, which is part of the global market for uranium enrichment services reaches almost 30%.
Urenco Group specializes in uranium enrichment using gas centrifuge technology. The company supplies fuel for nuclear power plants in 15 countries, Europe and the United States. Has uranium enrichment capacity in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom. One third was the British government, the third was the government of the Netherlands, and finally in equal parts of the German energy companies E.ON and RWE.
As reported, since the beginning of the Russian aggression in the Gatomics announced a complete refusal to purchase fuel from Russia. Defeat, it was noted that if necessary, NNEGC agrees to increase fuel supplies with the American company Westinghouse.
