Thessaloniki: Models saw their photos being advertised on a dating site
Young women in Thessaloniki saw photos of them, unknowingly, being published on … dating sites.
The prosecutor of Thessaloniki ordered an investigation into the matter, regarding the crime of breach of personal data and young women victims who go to modeling agencies where they were photographed in various competitions, but this material ended up in their ignorance -among other things- on closed websites acquaintances.
The users of these websites seem to have paid generously to exchange messages with the girls depicted, without knowing the slightest thing, since, as they complain, such a thing was not provided by the agreements they had signed.
The case recently reached the courts of Thessaloniki after a lawsuit filed by a young woman and the accused owner of a modeling agency. The Single-Member Misdemeanor Court, which was referred to trial for the offense of tampering with personal data, ruled that it had no jurisdiction to adjudicate the case and referred it to a higher court for the act of breach of personal data.
Based on reports, the head of the Thessaloniki Court of First Instance ordered a preliminary investigation to identify any other victims or similar incidents (the above case file includes an affidavit and a second girl).
The investigation was assigned to the Cybercrime Prosecution of Northern Greece.
