April 18, Minsk / Corr. BELTA/. Belarus has mastered the production of a vector vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 Sputnik Light. This was announced by Minister of Health Dmitry Pinevich, BelTA has learned.
According to the minister, the Belarusian and Russian sides proposed transfer technologies, and now Sputnik Light is completely produced at the domestic enterprise RUE Belmedpreparaty. Thus, the next stage of the implementation of the Belarusian-Russian project for the production of the Sputnik Light vaccine against the COVID-19 infection in full cycle has been completed. Previously, the first validation industrial series of vaccines was released, which was sent for quality control to the N.I. N. F. Gamalei in Russia.
Work also continues on the production of its own Belarusian vaccine at an enterprise in Vitebsk. They are on schedule, said Dmitry Pinevich.
As for the epidemiological situation in Belarus, according to the minister, it is almost safe. There are only sporadic cases of morbidity, and in general the health system has switched to work as usual. In some cases, specialized medical care is provided, covering planned operations in all areas.
