The passion for cars can take many forms, from a deep knowledge of the history of the models and their construction to the full saving of the model you own, from a hobby of a few hours of work in the garage on weekends, to -charge your batteries after a week of work, until the very transformation of this passion into a work, as everyday and practical as possible. Diana Vascan is a taxi driver from Moldova who has worked in several countries and in several professions, but she best says that she feels behind the wheel of a car, as a taxi driver.
Until now, Diana and her family have had a journey that hundreds of thousands of Moldovans have taken, in various forms and destinations. He was apparently from the diaspora, initially living and working in Russia, from 2001 to 2019, so for almost 2 decades. In Russia he worked for a long time as a taxi driver and says that he felt great in his profession. Then he returned to the country, and having difficulty rearranging his life from scratch in Moldova, where he had been absent for so long, he had to go to Italy, and then to Germany for other periods of work. Only then did he return and settle in Moldova with his family. And after trying another profession, she returned to work as a taxi driver, where she says she feels best.
Now he works on a Toyota Prius, hybrid, of course, but also powered by methane gas, as it is almost mandatory for taxi drivers in our country, because there is an extra chance to save. He loves his car and works up to 12 hours a day, from Monday to Saturday inclusive. The other 12 hours are spent by her husband, by car. Basically, as she says, they meet at home, and when dinner comes Diana, then her husband works at night, then they have lunch and work leaves Diana, and Toyota almost never cools its engine. Then I work on Sundays, less hours, but Sunday is a work day anyway.
Although she tells them in a simple way, maybe, and treats them as normal, Diana says in this new episode of the series People and Cars many things almost unbelievable for many of us about what it means to work as a taxi driver in Moldova. She says as many things that many will be left to meditate on and think about, even after listening to her, about her life story in the diaspora, and most of her life, which is so similar to the experiences of hundreds of people. thousands of people. Moldovans. The beautiful part, even now, after all this travel, even if she and her husband work so hard on this taxi Toyota, she says that she finally feels fulfilled and enjoys working hours behind the wheel.
