Sports village, deathride and BMX track: this can be experienced in the Antwerp neighborhoods on Outdoor Play Day | Antwerp
AntwerpThe fifteenth Outdoor Play Day will take place on Wednesday 20 April. The children’s channels do not broadcast anything on television and the schools are asked not to give homework. For the Antwerp children there is a very extensive sports program on the menu. All activities are free and registration is not required.
In Antwerp, district partners everywhere provide a varied range of sports and games with other bouncy castles, building camps, trampolining, bicycle courses and panna fields. These will take place in Agorapark, Sint-Andriesplaats, Kielpark, Stuivenbergplein, Koning Albertpark and Playterein Emile Verhaerenlaan. A large sports village settles on the Dageraadplaats where children can get acquainted with different sports.
In Berchem, Het Prieel (Ter Nieuwerbrugge) and De Villegaspark (Uitbreidingstraat) are transformed into a large sports and play paradise for one day. All local youth partners are joining forces to provide an offer. Both parks will feature a mechanical rodeo bull, an attraction chosen by members of the Children’s District Council.
Furthermore, children can play panna football, play the circus artist, race on the obstacle or BMX course, follow an initiation rope skipping, jump on the trampoline, have a henna tattoo and much more.

In Berendrecht, the neighborhood is building a play paradise on the playground at the Heiblocks. The nursery village has several large bouncy castles, a 15-metre playground and a disco castle. For the older children, there are workshops, a laser shoot arena, a 20-metre adventure track and super trampolines. The ‘Via Ferrata’ is a real spectacle. Climb the tower and choose between the death ride or the free fall. There is a cozy terrace for (grand)parents and older brothers and sisters.

In Borger you can enjoy yourself on hetlopplein, Krugerplein, Luitenant Naeyaertplein and Te Boelaerpark and work together between Samen op Straat, KRAS, JES & the Youth Service.
In Park Groot Schijn in Deurne, children show their skate tricks or learn to skateboard during an initiation to skateboarding in the skate park. On the sports fields there is also an initiation korfball of the Deurnse korfball club Riviera. There are various play and sports activities and creative workshops for children and teenagers on the Tweemontstraat playground.
In the Boshovestraat, children have a street artwork and designs designed by the making facade of the Academy Deurne. On the Arenaplein there are various sports initiations such as dance, korfball, panna and kickboxing.

In the bib Arena, the little ones enjoy stories in the reading nest and creatives take part in the workshop of ‘Wilde Raven’. On the Lakborslei there is a real bike course, a bouncy castle, make-up and various fun play and sports activities.
In primary school De Linde (Van Steenlandstraat 15) there is a Flemish funfair, a make-up stand, a balance course and a bouncy castle. In Ekeren, the outdoor play day takes place in the Veltwijck Park. Numerous activities are provided, such as crafts, bouncy castles, an altitude trail, giant games, a reading corner, games and much more.
Biggest bouncy castle
With the outdoor play day, the biggest bouncy castle festival -the Big Bounce- is coming to Hoboken. The Sorghvliedtpark is filled with more than 20 attractions for young and old. There is also a chill and party zone with games, photobooths, stages with DJs and much more. There is also an association village where you can get acquainted with the range of youth and sports associations from Hoboken.
The Merksem youth service, together with all kinds of district partners, goes to the squares, playgrounds and parks: Bouckenborghpark, Leiebos playground, Lange Bremstraat, Runctvoortpark, Municipality Park, Distelhoek, Kwadeveldenplein, Kastanjeboomplein, Burgemeester Jozef Nolfplein, Duvelsplein and the square in front of Bib Park.
In Wilrijk, the Outdoor Play Day will take place in the Steytelinck Park and children can design marble bags in the creative workshop and have fun in the bouncy castle zone. For the more adventurous there is a death ride and survival course. Be sure to take a look in the giant ball pool and the speleobox. The local fire brigade even beeps with the fire truck.
