It gives Slovakia only five million euros a year for water transport. According to the Minister of Transport Andrej, shipping in Slovakia is Doležalain a very neglected state, the state’s huge investment and operating debt, according to him, is trying to catch up slowly. He informed the Minister Doležal in a press release sent by his adviser Ivan Rudolf.
More needs to be invested in waterborne transport
Doležal stressed that the state should invest more in water transport than before. The ministry therefore wants projects for the modernization of ports and better navigability of the Danube and Váh waterways.
“We have trucks for roads, railways, we have five million for water transport. that there will be room for a revision of the partnership agreement during the next programming period of the Eurofunds. It is an ecological form of transport that we want to promote. that if someone is not able to draw on Eurofunds, I believe that we will be able to move them to water transport, “ he added Doležal.
Checks are starting to level
“Our employees of the Transport Office write the ships in a notebook. We do not have a real register, an information system where we would know in real time that a ship from Hungary is sailing with a Romanian captain with 20 years of experience. Until now, inspectors in their own clothes have performed inspections on the water on ships without marking. Now they have got two new vessels, they have uniforms, they finally have respect for them. It will be at a level, “ said the Minister of Transport when balancing his two-year tenure in office.
