Thomas Ramos ready to revolt against Ulster

Stade Toulousain will go to defend their title of reigning European champion on Saturday evening, in Ireland, against Ulster. A meeting that Toulouse must win by seven points or more if they want to see the quarters.
Thomas Ramos, who has just extended his contract with the Stade, spoke about this very important deadline for the Rouge et Noir season in an interview with Midi Olympique. He first looks back on the first leg, which left the team with a mixture of satisfaction and frustration.
“The Stadium was on fire and we ended up with a small forward which is damaging given the scenario. We scored a minute from the end, quickly converted and managed to get back in their camp… We didn’t have any I want it to stop! Even in numerical inferiority, with five more minutes, I think we could snatch the victory. We came out tired, physically affected but our opponents were also exhausted. We were able to mark them with a player in less and we have to keep doing it on Saturday to take it home.”
Ulster could be a good memory for Toulouse since they won in Belfast last year. But the French international knows that the context will not be the same at all: “Certainly, we had won there, but there was no public in the stands. There, the stadium will be white-hot (…) Last season, we were able to win but by putting all the necessary ingredients for a victory in outside: combat, aggression and that essential touch of madness in our game. We know what it takes to achieve a feat, based on the last two games against Ulster.
The fight, the people of Toulouse are ready for that. Interview after interview, it’s the same speech that comes back in everyone’s mouth. Thomas Ramos is no exception to the rule: the team will fight to the end. His motivation can be summed up in a few sentences: “The staff reminds us that we are in a club that has made history in France and in Europe. We must continue to write it and win titles. Today, being eliminated in the round of 16 is inconceivable for the group.”
