Monaco keeps its confidence in Philippe Clément
Landed in December on the bench of AS Monaco after the ousting of the Croatian Niko Kovac when the Asemitic club was 6th in the championship, the Belgian Philippe Clément, of which Monaco is still 6th, would have the total confidence of his management: “The sporting director (Paul Mitchell), the vice-president (Oleg Petrov) and myself spoke with president Rybolovlev. I spoke more than four hours with him. He said that we have his full support in the current project. New, he was less present. He wants to be more involved again. We talked about the current players, the profiles we need for next season.
The former coach of Bruges, however, regrets the article by The Teamthen denied by management, who informed that the president of ASM was cleaning up the club this summer: “You never know the future when you are a coach. That’s life. I was surprised at the timing, before a big match (against PSG, 3-0, on March 20). I then thought only of its preparation. In order not to destabilize the players, I told my assistants: “We don’t talk about that to the players, we stay focused to win”. Well he took one.
