ALL ANTWERP: “He was an accident, but very desirable” (Antwerp)
Every day our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Vincent Steurs (28).
“I am the driver of the container parks. I take the full containers away to empty them and then I go back. I am always very much on my own during the job. Then I listen to the radio a bit, especially Topradio. I like to be alone. Today I work exceptionally on a mobile container park and help people with their stuff. I replace a colleague, which is a nice change.”
“I can’t get too tired, because when I get home there is still an 11-month-old son waiting. And we don’t have three dogs either. Luckily I have a very good friend who does a lot. She is at home now because we can’t find a nursery where there is no room for our son. We were on a waiting list, but were taken off without our knowledge. Now we’re back at the very back. It is terrible with those nurseries.”
“My girlfriend had no job for a while. It was not extended during her pregnancy. She worked as an interim for Bpost and unfortunately did not have a permanent contract. Fortunately I still have a good job, we will get through it and positively. And we are very happy with our son. He can hang it, but that’s part of it. He wasn’t actually planned, it was an accident, but very much desired. I am a fiery daddy.”
