Posted Article, Sports | From cup winner in Sarpsborg to training camp in Denmark
We have a basic tribe in the team who have played football together since they were little. There are of course differences in skills in the group, but for the OBOS Cup we had a wish that all players should participate on the same team in the group game and in a possible final. They are a large group of friends who make good friends with each other, where in the last year we have also gained some influx which is natural when playing youth football. Our goal is, as always, to take the girls seriously by giving them a good offer that the boys get in our club. This the girls notice and is something that should be a matter of course in 2022.
Victory in the final
The team that in recent years has become circuit champion had also played its way to the finals in the OBOS cup, where Sarpsborg Football Club was on the opposite half of the field. This year, Sarpsborg FK and Hafslund IF are collaborating to create teams in the KM series, and is a great way to ensure eager football girls a good football offer in Sarpsborg. Sarpsborg FK / HIF had reached the final through only victories and an impressive 16-2 in goal difference in the group stage. There was therefore excitement about what the red girls from Gresvik IF could do for the occasion. In a rough weather that reminded me more of winter than spring, the conditions were not optimal for the finesse on Kurland artificial turf. It should take 24 minutes before the first ball was in the net and it should not stop until it was 7-1 on the scoreboard for the girls from Gresvik IF, who could once again collect a victory in the OBOS Cup.
Right to training camp in Denmark
With a long period filled with closure and restrictions, it was time for a long-awaited training camp in Denmark. “This gang has missed a lot of fun in an important period of their youth life they will not get back. A proper training camp was therefore important that we got for the girls ». says coach Hans Martin Hansen. With top facilities at Vejen Idrætscenter south of Denmark, everything was ready for 5 days of training. “We have had some great days at an impressive football facility, where in addition to football we have focused on both injury prevention and team building,” concludes Hansen.
Must play in Regional series for the first time
Due to good results, among other things in the domestic KM series, the girls will play in the Regional series this year. This means Saturday matches in Trondalen against clubs such as Lillestrøm, Stabæk, Kolbotn and KFUM. “It is important that we can also offer a good sports program locally, so that the most eager girls do not have to go out of town to have a good and adapted training routine. This is how it is on the boys’ side, and this is something we also want to offer the girls. It’s very good in the club’s location, so I’m sure we can do something good for the girls’ communities in our district too, without them having to go out of town. At the same time, it is important that the entire width is taken care of, as we have done in the OBOS Cup by letting all players participate. In addition to a team in the Regional series, we also field a 9`s team in the Østfold series », says coach Christian Lorentsen.
