Will hell come in Prague? Mushroom’s deputy spoke. It is said that a mistake was made here
As part of the transport in Prague, the angry residents often criticize the fact that the Pirates in the capital literally cough up the transport and only cut back on repairs and reconstructions of roads. Adam Scheinherr (Prague himself), the Prague deputy and deputy mayor Zdeněk Hřiby for transport, named the basic problems of transport in the capital in the program Prostor X and also stated how he intends to remedy them. He evaluates his current term of office as successful.

Scheinherr, the councilor for transport, believes that during his and the reign of Mayor Hřib, the traffic situation in Prague has improved: “I think so in many respects. We have improved several pedestrian crossings, tram stops, and the tram lines have been extended. The busy intersections have also improved, where a turning lane has been added, which has increased the capacity on busy routes, ”he listed some of the merits improving Prague traffic.
According to him, work has begun on the construction of the first trolleybus line after seventy years, three new tram lines or metro D, and on the reconstruction of streets. “More cars are coming and we are trying to get these streets to a better condition, so the situation is still not easy,” she said.

The reconstruction was criticized by a large number of Praguers last year, who complained that the city management was not able to coordinate the repairs well.

Scheinherr admits that he apparently underestimated communication here. “There should have been more communication with citizens, more explanations as to why restrictions are needed. The coordination that the opposition envisions is that I would cut off those individual investments, but that would only lead to procrastination and procrastination. Then it would have the domino effect that the constructions are not being realized, that we are bringing the Prague infrastructure into a bad condition, “said a member of the Prague group, who has been in the post of the square for three and a half years.
The chapter itself will be the repair of the Barrandov Bridge, 140,000 cars pass through it every day, and it is one of the most important routes for Prague and Central Bohemian drivers. Its reconstruction will have a lot of effect on the traffic situation, many are literally preparing for hell. “It simply came to our notice then. When I started, the debt on Prague’s infrastructure was about 30 billion, if I want to proceed with the reconstruction of the Barrandov Bridge out of poor technical condition, then I simply have to carry out a major reconstruction before starting such a major reconstruction as repairing the Barrandov Bridge.
“Complications in repairing the Barrandov Bridge will certainly remain, it is the busiest bridge and road in the Czech Republic, and no such road has any compensation,” adds Scheinherr, adding that drivers will have to be very patient.
As a member of the Prague political group, Scheinherr is said to be trying to make rational compromises and correct the mistakes of his predecessors, who did not plan and postpone. Due to this, today the construction of the Barrandov Bridge hangs on corroded ropes, resp. on the remaining ten percent of their average.
He called the Green Party ideological when he opposed the City Circuit and doubted the completion of the Prague or ODS, which promotes car transport.
It was in Prague 3 that the concurrence was unfortunate. However, according to the traffic square, this part of the city suffers from the fact that its networks are in a deplorable technical condition. “Some sewers and water mains there are about 100 to 120 years old,” he said, adding that a new city district was being prepared here at the Žižkov Freight Station. “So, unfortunately, Jan Želivský’s surroundings are and will be dug up over a period of several years, sewerage, water supply, gas are changing and all major networks are being fed in,” Scheinherr continued.
According to him, the busiest intersection in the city on Charles Square, which is crossed by up to 169 trams, will need to be lightened, which should be solved by a new line in the upper part of Wenceslas Square.
According to him, the traffic situation will facilitate the cycle lanes, which he wants to integrate best wherever possible. Last but not least, according to the councilor this year, it will be marked by the construction of cycle paths, a record number of them are to be created. “Existing bike paths await reconstruction. Wherever there are cyclists, there should be cycle lanes if they fit in, “says the deputy for transport. He would like that Prague could be like Zurich if cyclists with a share of five to six percent ran on the road.
He believes that he will eventually repair his reputation. According to him, his decision is not governed by elections or criticism from opponents. “I do not follow the election deadline during the reconstructions, closures and extensions of the cycle lanes, nor do I follow the criticisms of the opponents. I decide as needed in a particular place and time. I am an administrator, I do not benefit from any of the forms of transport, “added the mayor’s deputy for transport.
