Power ointment from the pedestrian association: – Tier parks here
Tier won the tender in Oslo to show consideration and make sure that the users did the same. Here you can see how TIER places its standing mopeds, says Stein Leikanger, spokesman for the pedestrian association Let’s take the sidewalks back.
After the first of April, only three companies will be allowed to ride 8000 electric scooters in the city. One of these companies is Tierwho won the tender to show consideration and make sure users did too.
Here you can see how Tier places its standing mopeds, Leikanger believes: On a narrow sidewalk at a pedestrian crossing. So that they block half the sidewalk.
He thinks it is easy for a person with poor eyesight to wrap himself in the electric scooters and fall ugly.
Tier are good at PR and lousy at implementation. They occupy the city’s common space, to the annoyance and harm of others, Leikanger believes.
– Parked by users
Tier, for his part, denies that they have parked the electric scooters here.
– The electric scooters in the picture are parked by users. It would have given better accessibility if they stood right up to the wall. Proper parking is something both we and the rest of the industry are job-oriented with in Oslo. We do this through information campaigns and with the development of technology. We see major improvements from previous years, but will continue to do much more, says Morten AskelandNorwegian manager in Tier.

He says that Tier cleans and moves the electric scooters regularly, in line with the guidelines from the municipality.
– We have our own, dedicated clean-up patrol that is out in the streets of Oslo every single day. This is how we ensure that the electric scooters do not stand in the way or in other ways impede accessibility.
Photo approval of parking
– I add that we zone in the app which divides where you can drive and where it is not allowed to park. The castle park is an example of such a zone. This is to prevent large collections of electric scooters in the most popular places in the city.

He says that in order to be able to park, the user must have parking approved through photo approval in the app. It is clear where it is not allowed to park and where it is best to park.
– Hard to believe
Stein Leikanger says he does not buy the explanation for Tier.
– It is hard to believe, since they were symmetrically arranged there. At the same time, it should not be possible to end a trip in such a place. Bottom parking at designated locations, with digital control, is to everyone’s advantage, including the industry. It is carried out with bravura in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris, Vienna and Berlin, etc. But is almost impossible with us, says Leikanger.
