An online database of construction plans will be created in Prague
Prague – The Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) will prepare an online application in which it will make available information on planned construction plans in the metropolis. City councilors decided on that today. They also approved the development of population forecasts for the purpose of planning public infrastructure, such as schools, sports grounds or medical facilities.
Since 2003, IPR has been operating an electronic record of all territorial decisions in the metropolis. “The new web application for publishing selected data from the register of zoning decisions will simply and clearly display the planned plans in the selected locality, including basic data such as location, type or size of the construction,” stands in the approved document.
The information provided will not include any personal data, data on the legal entities concerned or the registered documents themselves. IPR, which already runs a number of similar mapping applications, will develop the new tool internally, so the city will not have to invest extra money. According to Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček (for TOP 09), the application should work within a year.
Today, the city councilors also approved that the IPR will prepare a document that will have the task of mapping the present and future of the population in Prague with regard to the future need to build public infrastructure. According to the director of the institute, Ondřej Boháč, it will consist of demographic forecasts until 2050 and a section that will assess the current state of the infrastructure and its future needs. The document will then be updated at two-year intervals.
