Presidential 2022. At noon, the participation is down in Hauts-de-France, except in Pas-de-Calais
In Hauts-de-France, turnout at noon is down in the first round of the presidential election compared to 2017. Only Pas-de-Calais has a surprisingly high turnout.
Four hours after the opening of polling stations in mainland France, turnout in the first round of the presidential election is down three points across the country compared to the same stage of the day in 2017. It stands at 25.48%, compared to 28.54% five years ago.
In Hauts-de-France, the same observation at the level of the departments except in Pas-de-Calais which has seen an increase of six points compared to 2017, according to data communicated by the prefectures at midday.
At noon, the participation rate stood at 25.44% in the region as a whole, almost similar to the national trend (25.48%) but slightly below 2017, then from 26.78% to midday.
It is in the Pas-de-Calais that we vote the most in the region at 12 p.m., with 29.23% participation, six points more than in 2017 (23.25%).
Follow the Oise, with 25.61% of votes cast at noon (26.30% in 2017), the North with 24.01% participation (28.38% in 2017, four points less) and the Somme, at 23.79% (five points less than in 2017, 29.07% at noon).
It is in the Aisne that we voted the least at midday in the Hauts-de-France: 22.86% participation, five points less than five years ago (27.63% ) .
In the region, three presidential candidates voted in their strongholds. Fabien Roussel carried out his civic duty in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux (North) at 11:10 a.m. Marine Le Pen did the same a quarter of an hour later in Hénin-Beaumont (Pas-de-Calais).
Outgoing President Emmanuel Macron is the last of the twelve candidates to have voted today, at 12:40 p.m., in Le Touquet, after a half-hour walkabout.
