Uerdingen – Cologne: Result for both relegation and promotion too little
KFC Uerdingen and Fortuna Cologne separate 1-1 draw. Up to ten minutes before the end it looked like a surprise.
In what was probably the last home game in exile in Velbert, KFC Uerdingen played against the top team from Fortune Cologne 1-1 (1-0) draw. Abdul Fesenemeyer (44th) scored the goal for Krefeld, Leon Demaj (81st) for Cologne.
Of the KFC Uerdingen was in good shape right from the start – as it has been since the beginning of the year. The Krefelders were strong and vehement and had more of the game in the first 20 minutes. But the first big chance belonged to the guests. Andre Dej (21st) slammed a ball against the post. Lucky for the KFC!
The Fortunes were now a little stronger Mike Owusu (32nd) put a ball on the side netting. But Uerdingen continued to play happily – and was also rewarded. After a fine pass from Levan Kenya, Abdul Fesenmeyer (44′) made it 1-0. It was KFC’s best and only chance of the half. That’s called the perfect chance evaluation.
Fortune Cologne: Weis – Dieckmann, Löhden, Thaqi, Itter (46th Nadjombe) – Dej, Najar (77th Ubabuike), Batarilo (66th Beltran), Owusu – Demaj, Marquet.
Judge: Leonidas Exuzidis.
Crack: 1-0 Fesenmeyer (44′), 1-1 Demaj (81′).
Yellow cards: Baba, Jensen, Kretschmer, Fesenemyer, Brdaric-Löhden.

Fortuna Köln tried to take control of the second half. And the guests can also have more ball possession phases, but without any return. Because the team of coach Alexander Ende could not create any big chances. On the contrary: Tim Brdaric (70th) headed just wide of the Fortuna goal.
Cologne then tried it very simply in the final quarter of an hour: long balls forward. Such a thing falls at Leon Demaj’s feet (81st) and he hammered the ball into the KFC goal – 1:1.
In the end, KFC drew 1-1 against Fortuna, who will soon be returning to Grotenburg. The result should not be enough for the Uerdinger dream of staying up and for the Cologne dream of promotion.
