Ministry of Culture: paintings detained in Finland are already on the territory of the Russian Federation – Russia |
April 9th. Interfax-Russia.ru – Cars with the protection of trophies from exhibitions in Italy and Japan, previously detained in Finland, located on the territory of Russia, one of them will arrive in St. Petersburg, the other two – in Moscow, transferred to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
“Three vehicles with turnover and paintings have crossed the Finnish-Russian transportation and are moving to St. Petersburg and Moscow,” the agency said in a statement.
It is specified that one of the cars will arrive in St. Petersburg with items from the State Hermitage Museum, the Pavlovsk, Gatchina and Tsarskoe Selo museum-reserves. These paintings were previously exhibited in Italy.
Two other cars will deliver paintings to Moscow museums.
From the second Italian exhibition, as specified in the department, the paintings are returning to the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of the East. From the exhibition, the collections will be returned to the State Japanese Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin.
On April 4, Finnish customs officially detained the painting due to EU recognition. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation then reported that the exhibits undergoing customs inspection at the Finnish border were part of two exhibitions in Italy – “Grand Tour. Myth, Vision and Feeling of Italy” (the exhibition included works from the State Hermitage Museum, “Tsarskoye Selo”, “Pavlovsk ” and “Gatchina”) and “Form of infinity”.
Mikhail Shvydkoy, special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation on the incident in the cultural center, told Interfax that the problem with the return of the executive authorities is caused by bureaucratic procedures, and as soon as they are carried out, the exhibits are returned to Russia.
