“I update the offer every day. Now I have begged for diapers, the toys have run out and now we will ask for more clothes. 500 people come to us every day, the demand is huge, those people came here with just one bag, “said journalist Nora Fridrichová, who founded the service last June and offers help to refugees, mostly after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
Although fewer of them have been coming to Prague in recent weeks, large queues are still forming in front of Hall 13. “People have been walking for two hours before the opening. Previously, the queue lasted all day until five. It is known that the wave of migration has subsided. Some walk repeatedly and only come for some smaller things. They don’t choose much, they take what is. They are not completely used to getting something from Ukraine for free, “Fridrichová explained.
A branch of the Labor Office in Hall 29 has also been operating in the Prague Market Hall since April, arranging employment so that people can come and pick up what they need after arranging a meeting with the office.

The endowment fund wants to use the enthusiasm and strength of the people who participate in the aid and plans to open a job portal with job offers for people from Ukraine, single people or seniors and people with disabilities. According to Fridrichová, the latest technical details are now being fine-tuned so that companies can post their demands here. It will be possible to find or inquire here in basically any job. “Maybe I’ll look for a gardener, so I’ll put an ad there. Or if someone is looking for a hairdresser, I’ll do it, “Fridrichová explained.
He was looking for helpers as the closet started its services. “I placed an ad on Facebook and a group of about 15 women immediately signed up. The next day, there were another 50 in front of the closet. They need to do something, they don’t want to sit at home and wait. They are often women of working age and have worked so far. Some of them can speak Czech or can communicate very well. “Long-lived Ukrainians say they have broken the language barrier in two to three months,” Fridrich said.

Some of them also found work directly in the Prague Market Square, such as Mrs. Naďa from Lviv, who prepares various Ukrainian specialties in a food truck. People here can also invite Ukrainians to a meal by paying them a coupon for a portion of food, which the wardrobe will then give to the most needy.
