Carlos Vila Nova. Portugal and São Tomé will “strengthen” cooperation

Regarding maritime piracy in Guinea’s golf, an area in which Portugal provides “very important assistance with equipment and training”, with the presence of the PATRULHA ship “Zaire” in São Tomé’s waters, the two consider that, “in view of the current”, it is justified to pay more attention to this phenomenon and to integrate the context including other partners in this process”.
After the meeting, at Palácio de Belém last Tuesday, the Portuguese President promised support in terms of cooperation, and also in the organization of the following laws, municipal and regional, scheduled for September 25, and to face the resources contracted by the heavy rains that exercise the country end of December, budgeted at 333 million euros.
