It is one of the startups that rises to Toulouse. Aura Aerowhich is developing several electric aircraft, has just announced, on Thursday April 7, 2022, a collaboration agreement with Saffron for his planes INTEGRAL E and TIME.
Reduce noise and eliminate CO2 emissions
In concrete terms, Safran Electrical & Power will work with the start-up deployed in Francazal to develop the architecture and electric propulsion of the devices.
“Safran Electrical & Power is supplying the propulsion system for the in-flight demonstrator of INTEGRAL E, the electric version of INTEGRAL, the two-seater training aircraft with aerobatic capability developed by AURA AERO”, indicates the world leader in aeronautical electrical systems. This system eliminates CO2 emissions and reduces noise.
the first flight of this electric aircraft is scheduled for 2022 and deliveries will take place in 2023. Aura Aero already has around sixty order intentions for its future aircraft.
Studies for the future ERA aircraft
Safran Electrical & Power has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Aura Aero to conduct electrical architecture studies for the future Toulouse regional commercial aircraft: ERA.
“The studies will focus on the high voltage direct current propulsion architecture, which will provide the necessary power to the electric motors. The collaboration also extends to the so-called ‘non-propulsive’ electrical architecture, which makes it possible to supply the other systems of the ‘plane’.
This 19-seat aircraft already counts letters of intent to order several hundred copies. If development goes as planned, it should make its first flight in 2024, before entering service in 2027.
