Prague will give nine million to help homeless people Company News Pražská Drbna
Prague councilors approved a subsidy to city districts to help homeless people. In total, projects for low-threshold services and employment and housing allocated nine million crowns.
“I am glad that a number of city districts are responding to the capital’s call for projects in the field of homelessness this year as well, and we are thus developing systemic cooperation in the field of social policy. Applicants were able to submit projects in two areas: the first is primarily intended to support low-threshold services and the second area concerns the employment and housing of homeless people. “ said in a press release Milena Johnová (Prague Sobě), Councilor for Social Policy and Health Care.
There are sixteen city districts in the area of support for field work with people at the municipal level. Together they will share 2.6 million crowns. Eight districts will receive funding for projects to support the employment of homeless people, and two money will be used to stabilize vulnerable tenants in housing. For these purposes, Prague will release 6.4 million crowns.
The city districts will receive funding on the condition that they contribute at least fifteen percent to the main costs of the project, or that they create the project by the end of 2022. However, the intention of the councilors has yet to be approved by the council.
