Thousands of jobs to be filled in tourism
Hoteliers and restaurateurs in the Sud Paca region are launching a major communication campaign to recruit.
As the summer season is about to begin, the hotel and restaurant sector is struggling to find employees in the South Region. According to the president of the Regional Tourism Committee, François de Canson, “It’s urgent”. To attract candidates, the professionals have drawn up a “Charter of benevolence”. The text includes 10 commitments. In particular, it promises a motivating salary policy and career development opportunities.
A job platform
A marketing campaign must be integrated on the networks and a platform called Mon tourism employment has been set up. For the Alpes-Maritimes, nearly 2000 job offers are recalled there on Wednesday 6 April. There are more than 2,300 on the Var side.
The recruitment crisis is all the more problematic as the tourism sector represents 13% of the GDP of the SOUTH region and provides work for 25,000 companies. According to the professionals, qualified personnel are essential to offer a quality service and continue to attract visitors. One of the longer-term objectives is to convince young people to join the Apprentice training centers (CFA).
