The Mydlinka kindergarten in Prague 12 will be built by Geosan and NEPRO for CZK 129 million
Prague – Prague 12 will pay about 129 million crowns for the construction of the Mydlinka kindergarten for 112 children. The building, which should have low energy consumption, will be built by Geosan Group and NEPRO stavební. This follows from the contract between Prague 12 and the contractor and from the resolutions of the councilors. The new building is this year’s largest investment event in the twelfth district. Open kindergartens are planned for 2023. According to some opposition representatives, the project is overpriced, they have criticized it before.
The kindergarten, which was designed by the Loxia architectural office, will have four classrooms, a dining room and facilities. It will stand on land between K Beránu, Dolnocholupická and Lešetínská streets. According to the Councilor for Education Petr Prchal (TOP 09), the kindergarten will be in an area where there is no kindergarten yet.
The plan for the construction of the Mydlinka Kindergarten was approved by the city council in 2019. According to the town hall, the reason for establishing the new kindergarten is the demographic development in the city district and housing construction in the Čech district. In the immediate vicinity of the kindergarten being prepared, new Rorýsova and Zlochova streets have been built in recent years, where houses with approximately 570 flats have been built. More apartments are now being built.
Prague 12 announced a tender for the construction of a kindergarten for the first time in the first half of 2021 with an estimated contract price of about 76.8 million excluding VAT. At that time, the town hall did not select the winner of the competition and canceled the competition because the bids significantly exceeded the expected price. The project subsequently underwent changes and Prague 12 announced a new public contract in December 2021, with an estimated price of about 79.9 million excluding VAT. Five companies submitted bids and the consortium of Geosan and NEPRO with the lowest offered price won the competition.
Opposition deputies Zdeněk Boublík (Change for Prague 12) and Lenka Vedralová (YES) have previously described the new construction of a four-class kindergarten for approximately CZK 100 million as “overpriced”. She suggested that a new kindergarten in the Čech district should be built as a container house.
