Most of the equipment, including computers, is installed there in advance, and the necessary things are then moved from the Prague Congress Center (KCP) the night before the opening of the KACPU at a new location. The exact date of the municipality is yet to be announced, it should be the day just before Easter.
“Currently, Vysočany is cleaning, installing furniture, marking access roads, setting aside parking for buses, etc. It seems that everything is going according to plan. We strive for the smoothest possible move for both employees and clients, “Hřib assured that the center will be in operation during the Easter holidays.
Volunteers are missing
At present, the KACPU is open for both Prague and the Central Bohemian Region between 7 am and 9 pm, and even at night it will help refugees with emergency accommodation if they need it.
There are now around a thousand beds in “emergency accommodation” in the city’s buildings. The mayor reiterated that volunteers advising immigrants in their language are necessary for the operation of KACPU and smaller “refugee assistance stations” at Central Station and Florence. Hundreds of people a day are needed for shift work.

“I would like to encourage anyone who can speak Ukrainian or at least Russian to register on a volunteer website. It is not possible to keep the center in operation without volunteers, “added Hřib.
