On Monday, Prague councilors approved the intention to announce a public contract for its form. This, unlike most constructions, will take place in the form of a competitive dialogue.

“It is a suitable tool for these complicated tasks, teams work in parallel and are confronted with the views of other actors such as water managers or conservationists,” said Deputy Minister for Territorial Development Petr Hlavářek (United Forces for Prague). This should avoid disagreements between all involved.
The architectural and design teams that will compete for this business will be selected by the city in about a month. A maximum of four groups should participate. The first workshop is to take place in September, followed by a long stage of discussions about what the new park should look like. According to Hlaváček, construction will not begin until eight years later.
Prague and surroundings: the youngest area of the republic differs in many ways
“The current form does not meet the parameters of public space or landscaping. Like the revitalization of Charles Square, the whole thing will be gas and communicated. People living in the area had the opportunity to comment, ”says Hlaváček.
According to the deputy, the city-wide significance of the park will increase after the Štvanice footbridge connecting Holešovice and Karlín is completed.
The area from the Libeň Bridge to the Karlín development with an area of 56 hectares, which corresponds to approximately half of Stromovka, can turn into a large relaxation zone. In the place between Vltava and Palmovka, the former eastern branch of the Vltava will be restored, the pride of which paved the way until 1928. The new ponds are part of flood control measures.
Part of one of the most lucrative plots in the Czech Republic will also stop development. A total of 380,000 square meters of residential, administrative and retail space will grow on the as yet unused land, located within walking distance of the Invalidovna B metro station. The project called Rohan City will be built by the developer Sekyra Group, who wants to gradually invest over 15 billion crowns in it. Until its completion, the nearby TBG Metrostav concrete plant should remain in operation.

The current territory of Rohan Island was a riverbed until the first half of the last century, which was later buried. The newly created areas are used for industrial and storage purposes. Over time, they became a brownfield with an area of 210,000 square meters. It is named after the Prague councilor and carpenter Josef Rohan, who bought the island in 1850. At that time, the island was a Prague promenade.
