All 19 clear ‘UFO’ sightings in 2021 in Portugal have been explained

Sugar Mizzy April 3, 2022

“They walk there.” It is one of the many phrases associated with the always mysteriously of the inhabitants of planet Earth in relation to other civilizations that may exist in the ‘cosmos’. And, in Portugal, there are also sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) – 19 flagged during the year 2021 -, but all of them were explained, thanks to an entity founded in 2021 that did not appear “to look for lights in the sky”, but rather to make the study of this type of occurrence relevant.

The work is from the Centro de Investigación de Phenomenos Aeroespaciais (CIFA), based in Vila do Conde, Porto, whose work has already been published by O MINHO and which integrates a group of researchers from different parts of the country, who analyze data to resolve accurately, trying to explain the sightings.

This research center was released, this Sunday, the “Annual Statistical Report of Occurrences of Aerospace Phenomena in Portugal – 2021”, with about 30 pages, which describes the phenomena signaled by Portuguese, which go from the Algarve to the Islands. This year, no sightings were reported in the districts of Braga and Viana do Castelo, thus leading Minho out of the evaluation circuit.

Of the 19 phenomena flagged, four correspond to Led balloons, four to drones, three to aircraft fuselage reflection, 3 to meteors, two to satellites, an aircraft signaling and others correspond to a planet. The 19th, however, has not yet been explained consistently, but it seems that it will be an IPMA meteorological probe (confirmation required).

AO MINHO, an entity considered of vital importance to the public knowledge of the explanations of the phenomena still with a huge thematic deficit in the dissemination in society. “Most of the explained cases involving linked technology are a percentage of the cases, which continue to confirm their interpretation by less enlightened testimonies to this type of drone of visualizations in the firmament”, explains Vítor Moreira, entity.

And, to the disappointment of many aficionados of beings from another world, he demystifies the sightings, which range “from balloons with LEDs or meteors reflecting aircraft fuselages”. “Everything contributes so that the phenomena are properly resolved in a global assessment of records consumed by the entity”, says the president.

“Without unexplained cases from the 19 records of national occurrences, the CIFA considers, however, in an open event that took place in Ponta Delgada (A 26 to keep, to close the tabulation, evidence of all the processes of the conclusions”, he added. .

This occurrence refers, according to the report consulted by O MINHO, to a possible sighting of a balloon/weather probe, but the process lacks more data for the researchers to analyze. This is a sighting that occurred during 2:0, by two witnesses, but without photographic or video recording, of a “silver-colored vacuum cleaner object, without a trace”, observed for about eight seconds.

The remaining 18 occurrences were all confirmed to be normal, thus not being phenomena coming from space.

Regarding CIFA, its president, Vítor Moreira, says that it has been “a link of fundamental sharing and knowledge in public opinion, to establish a channel of reciprocal information”.

“We are a multifaceted team that seeks to deepen the study, analysis and investigation of UFOs (UAPs) in our country, where the search and finding relevant patterns in the phenomenon are our fundamental goals of our existence”, explained.

The entity still has the possibility to consult the report in question, and must do so by contacting CIFA, by email. [email protected] There is no associated cost.

CIFA has been legal since July 14, 2021, in Vila do Conde, and has its website (cifa.pt) to promote its work.

It has more than 20 operational elements associated with its activity, “being increasing a multidisciplinary team in the work of intervention in the field”.

According to Vitor Moreira, CIFA will publish “a civil and dedicated to all citizens who observe the formal firmament, who will interact with the scope of the program to register aerospace phenomena that can be witnesses”.

An entity not looking for sky lights in the sky of occurrences designated as indications of a specific study and/or a floor with findings of extraordinary occurrences, designated as indications of an eventual extraordinary phenomenon.

nowadays there is no question of the existence of those designated a if the possibility of securing airspace against if their possibility of protecting airspace requires or an intervention in terms of the possibility of airspace against if not their protection from aerospace phenomena unknown”, concluded Vitor Moreira.
