A tourist plane from Great Britain with two passengers disappeared this Saturday off Le Touquet, in Pas-de-Calais, informed BFM Grand Littoral of the maritime prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea. Searches were generated for “concerning disappearance”.
“At the end of the morning on Saturday April 2, the Lyon-Mont Verdun Aeronautical Rescue and Coordination Center (ARCC) was alerted by the Le Touquet control tower that a P28 type passenger plane, coming from Wellesbourne (GB) and bound for Le Touquet (62) with 2 people on board, is the subject of an alarming disappearance”, indicates the prefecture.
No debris located
The ARCC triggers the probable sector of disappearance of the plane and launches searches in stride with the center of maritime operations (COM) of Cherbourg.
A Falcon 50 aircraft, a helicopter and the vessel Abeille Languedoc, an intervention, assistance and rescue tug, are notably involved. All the ships in the sector are also called upon to search for debris.
But by early evening, no wreckage or debris had been located. The search has been suspended and will resume Sunday morning.
